UC4 from CA Broadcom is one of the leading scheduling software. The software is able to conduct processes over different OS (Unix, Windows, Mainframe) and systems (SAP, PeopleSoft).
Docker is perfect tool to create Micro Services and to replace one monolith with a number of scalable services.
It is also capable to run many web sites secured by https cost efficient on one server.
Beside of versioning of software projects and setups, it can also be used to automate publishing processes. My favorite is OpenSource software GitLab.
Many software is providing today Rest API to execute tasks via Internet. With powerful scripting languages like NodeJS, the JavaScript on server, such processes can be easily implemented. Also UC4 Java API can be easily used via Java bridge in NodeJS.
JavaScript can be found on Client and Server side. On server it has the power of compiled programming languages. REXX is used on Mainframe by System programmer but also in Batch scheduling.
